Our teen and young adult courses and programs are specifically designed educational and skill-building opportunities tailored for individuals in their teenage years. These programs aim to equip youth with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary for personal and professional development.
Weight lifting class for teens ages 12-15 with limited or no experience with resistance training. Emphasis placed on safety, proper lifting technique, and weight-room etiquette. Discussions include progressive overload, benefits of different rep ranges, and maximizing results. Members and non-members welcome to register and attend. Must pre-register for each 5-week session.

Youth ages 13+ can prepare for the upcoming sports season by training with Coach 'K" untilizing different modalities needed to improve performance and conditioning levels. Coach "K" has a Master's degree in Exercise Science from Long Island University. She has trained athletes in a variety of sports, general wellness, post rehab, strength and more!

Introduction to Competitive Diving is a 5-week course designed to familiarize new divers with the 5 basic positions for 1-meter springboard diving. Participants will learn how to safely execute all the same dives they see in High School, College, and Olympic athletes. It is recommended to have a background in aerial sports (gymnastics, cheer, etc.), but is not required. This course will involve both dry land exercises and pool work. Participants will be divided by grade levels: 5th - 8th and 9th -12th.
Students MUST have attained Stage 4 of YMCA Progressive Swim Level. A minimum of 4 divers are needed to run this program. Brandon Gregg, WAHS Diving Coach, will lead this program. Swim waiver is required prior to registration.

This 5-week course is for swimmers ages 12-15. Participants will learn how to be a lifeguard, earn their CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications. They will gain experience shadowing as a honorary Junior Lifeguard. Classes meet Monday/Wednesday evenings and include classroom and pool time.
Swim waiver must be signed by parent/guardian prior to registration.***Must be able to attend all classes.
Participants who complete this course are eligible to receive a 20% discount off the cost of a future Warren YMCA Lifeguard Certification Course.
